Since Ramadan this year we will be celebrating with the new norm, which bazaar Ramadan will be shifted to a digital online bazaar, Amin decided to share simple recipes so people can enjoy cooking while at home. The food recipes he shared were not only fallen under the main dish category, but there are drinks and desserts too. The most famous recipe he shared with 2.5 million views and 10.4k comments is Roti John, a food which many Malaysians enjoy to have when breaking their fast.
The ingredients to make the tempting Roti John are:
1.5 whole holland onion
4 cloves garlic
3 tbsp beef curry powder
1 teaspoon fennel powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
400g ground beef
Salt
2 cups of water
Hot dog buns
Butter
5 eggs
Scallion
Cheese

The ingredients are simple and accessible at the nearby supermarket making many
people want to try the recipes on their own.
Some of the recipes like Air Sagu Gula Melaka, Buttermilk Chicken and Rolled Ice-cream are also the ones that received the most views with an average of 2.4 million views. The overwhelming support from his followers is something that Amin did not foresee when he started his cooking video. It started when he was still a young boy who enjoys watching cooking programs in television and started to learn many recipes from them. "As I further my study at Vanderbilt University in 2010, I started to cook Malaysian meals like Nasi Lemak, Nasi Kerabu, and Nasi Ayam by myself" he claimed in his Instagram post. Considering how hard it was for him to find local food in the United States, he practiced to make them and enjoy them with his other housemates.
Following that, he also enjoys making short videos. Be it travel, wedding, or music video, Amin finds happiness in producing them. The videos produced by using equipment like tripods and Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera at home. It was for fun at first and when the overwhelming support from his followers came, it encouraged him to create more cooking videos. Through his videos, he breaks the stereotypes of saying that cooking is hard because all the instructions that he showed in his posts in making one meal are straightforward and easy to follow.

Every successful person has a downside story in the process. In Amin's case, he
portrays the reality in cooking by posting his failed attempt to make a dish. On the 17th day of Ramadan, heposted a recipe of Roti Naan but the results were not how he expected. He once again breaks the stereotype of a cook who would not fail in preparing dishes. The failed attempts in preparing dish will teach us on how to improve
our cooking. It is also the moments we need to cherish so we can be a better cook next time.
For Amin, "I want my followers to know that everyone can cook. We only need the basic
steps and always think of cooking as a fun thing and not a burden" he said in Utusan
Malaysia. If we sincerely prepare food for our family, the feelings when they enjoy your
cooked dish will make us happy. He thanked everyone for supporting him to make videos and he is always grateful for the support he gets from his followers. Therefore,
he will always try to share the recipes with his followers.
For this year's 30 Recipes during 30 days of Ramadan, Amin collaborated with the
famous Malaysian singer Dato' Sri Siti Nurhaliza and Faizal Tahir. Dato Sri Siti Nurhaliza did a voice-over through Amin's short video of a simple recipe No-bake Cheesecake. While Faizal Tahir for his Buttermilk Chicken video. Through these collaborations, more social media users are surprised and pleased to hear the legendaries' voices featured in Amin's video. Since then, Amin has gained more popularity and he once again was grateful for the support he got from his followers.
