It is another day of Movement Control Order (MCO) which means that we are stuck indoors, going through the same daily routine with limited things to do to entertain ourselves. If you are out of things to do to keep yourself entertain during this MCO, then this article is for you! Do you have a closet full of clothes that you no longer wear? Clothes that do not fit you anymore or clothes that are already out of style? If yes, with the amount of time on our hands, thanks to the MCO, we can spend some time decluttering the closet. Hopefully, our closet will become more organized and become a reflection of our current taste of style and fashion by the end of it all.

Throw Away Clothes That You No Longer Wear

I know it is hard to throw away clothes especially if they hold sentimental values but think of it this way, if you no longer wear those pieces then they served no purpose for you except for taking up spaces in your closet. Fashion is always evolving and there is going to be a lot of new style of clothes that can replace the enticement the old ones used to bring. So, do not fret and start decluttering!

To start decluttering your closet, separate your clothes into different categories, the ones that you will keep and the ones that need to go. This is an important step for you to decide which clothes you want to keep and the ones you do not. So, you have to make decisions as hard as it is. Do not hesitate!

Keep in mind that you do not necessarily have to throw away your clothes, you can donate them to your siblings, friends and other people in need.

Get Crafty

If you still insist on keeping some of the clothes that you have never worn, ask yourself why. Why have not you wear the clothes? Is the style too boring? If it is but you still see the potential of wearing that clothes again in the future, you can customize the clothes to make it more desirable for you to wear. Get crafty!

For t-shirts, you can cut the bottom of the shirts to turn them into a crop top or you can cut off the shoulders or sleeves.

For jeans, to make them look even trendier, you can try turning them into shorts or cut them to knee length, ankle length or any of your desired length. If you are adventurous, you can try ripping the jeans at the knee area to turn it into ripped jeans.

It does not stop there; you can get even more creative with your clothes. You can try to paint on them, sew some buttons and laces, gluing some glitters and pearls. There are so many possibilities that you can try. Get creative and channel your inner artist! Who said you cannot have fun while decluttering your closet?

There are so many ways you can customize your clothes so that they become trendier and more desirable for you to wear. You can try this method if you find yourself reluctant to throw away some pieces.

Well then, with all the time on our hands during the MCO, it is time to start decluttering your closet if you find that you have too many pieces that you never wear or have wore only once. Only keeps the clothes that you will wear, like Marie Kondo advocates, only keep things that spark joy within you. Start decluttering and gets creative with your clothes!
