Restaurants and eateries are now allowed to operate at full capacity, according to Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
PUTRAJAYA – Restaurants are now allowed to operate at full capacity while still maintaining social distancing.
The government amended the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for restaurants and eateries during the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) period, allowing them to operate at maximum capacity, according to Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on June 19th.
The Senior Minister added that the number of diners per table should subject to its size.
Before the amendment of the SOP, families of four or more are required to sit separately in restaurants or eateries following the strict 4 people per table standard.
With the new SOP, family members can dine at the same table as long as social distancing is maintained, added the Senior Minister.
Since the MCO started on March 18 to curb the COVID-19 spread, many restaurants and eateries had gone through a rough patch in their business.
Following the implementation of Conditional MCO, several strict regulations loosened, allowing restaurants and eateries to operate with a limited number of dine-in customers.
With the arrival of RMCO, restaurants and eateries owners can heave a sigh of relief since they can finally operate at maximum capacity while making social distancing a priority.
